The Past Speaks

In this Bloggingheads divalog, Harvard evolutionary psychologist Steven Pinker discusses his forthcoming book on the history of violence. He attempts to explain why the world has become less violent over the last few centuries. (Pinker promises to provide lots of hard data to prove that such a decline has taken place). Although Pinker is a psychologist rather than a historian, this sounds like an important book that will start a conversation in which historians can participate.
